John, it’s been a frightening week for those who care about the rule of law and the future of democracy — in the U.S. and around the world.
And while Congress should be doing something about it, we know they won’t under MAGA/GOP leadership.
So we need to make our voices loud and clear: “No Wars, No Kings, No ICE!” That’s the theme of this Sunday’s march and rally. I hope you’ll join us in the streets. Sign up here >> [[link removed]]
Trump is attempting to take over Venezuela by force, at the behest of oil executives, with no authorization by Congress, in a way that will surely lead to more violence & corruption & chaos throughout the world.
And on Wednesday in Minneapolis, an ICE agent murdered a legal observer, Renee Nicole Good — and then Trump Administration officials lied about it, and a GOP Congressman threatened they’d do it again. Yesterday, ICE shot two more people in Portland.
John, Congress is supposed to stop this. Or, at the very least, demand accountability.
Congress is supposed to be the only body that can declare war. Instead, they are rolling over even as the President takes over a sovereign nation. That's the behavior of a narco-state, not of a democracy that cares about peace, or a rules-based international order.
Meanwhile, Congress keeps voting to fund and expand ICE. ICE is set to be the largest law enforcement agency in U.S. history, even as its agents are murdering people, the White House is lying about it, and Congress is not holding them accountable.
It's time to abolish ICE and demand accountability for the murder in Minneapolis, the shootings in Portland, and the countless other instances of Trump using federal agents like brownshirts to terrorize Americans.
Take it from me. I've seen it up close and personal.
John, I'm running because Congress needs to step up and do its job — fight, not fold.
In the meantime, I'm joining this rally — and hoping you will too — because the people need to step up and demand accountability where Congress has failed. Click the link to sign up. >> [[link removed]]
