General Newsletter From the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Friday, New Jersey,

This is our first newsletter of 2026. We hope the holiday season was a joyous one for you and your family. We’re wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.

Senator Kim was back in D.C. this week, the first session week of the Senate in 2026. We were devastated, like many of you, to hear of and see the video footage of an ICE officer shooting an American citizen in Minneapolis, MN. Upon hearing the news, Senator Kim called for an immediate investigation.

We know that people across the country have been living in fear that a situation like this could happen, and ICE cannot be allowed to operate with such recklessness. The Senator will continue to advocate for oversight of ICE as a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and to fight to make sure New Jerseyans feel safe in their communities.

We Want to Hear From You

This week, Trump showed just how far he’s willing to go in terms of extorting another country. By lying to Congress about the administration’s intentions in Venezuela, Trump is acting like just another reckless mob boss.

We want to hear from you: What do you want to say to the Trump Administration about their actions in Venezuela?

Fill out our survey here.

Working for New Jersey:

BUILDING AN EINSTEIN CORRIDOR FOR INNOVATION ACROSS NEW JERSEY:

On Monday, Senator Kim joined Celltrion, a Korean-based healthcare company whose American headquarters are based in Jersey City, for the opening of their facility in Branchburg, NJ.

This is what the Einstein Corridor is all about: global innovation in medicine and technology that starts right here in our state. It’s an exciting time to be a New Jerseyan!

FIGHTING FOR A GOVERNMENT THAT YOU CAN TRUST:

Senator Kim has long been committed to fighting corruption and restoring your trust in government, from New Jersey to Washington, D.C.

This week, the New Jersey Attorney General released the first report of the newly created TRUST Commission. We are proud that our State Director, Sue Altman, was able to serve on the TRUST Commission and be a part of the state's efforts to build a government in New Jersey that you can trust.

Working for you at the Capitol:

DEMANDING ANSWERS FROM THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ON VENEZUELA:

Trump’s doing mob boss politics again — this time on a global scale.

He doesn’t have a plan for what comes next, just another half-baked scheme to help his friends get richer.

With the Senate back in session this week, Senator Kim has criticized this administration’s extortion foreign policy and called for public hearings to answer your questions about Venezuela.

Thank you to the brave Capitol police officers who saved lives that day. We must continue to be caretakers to our nation and our democracy.
