HOTLINE REPORT
John, at MCN we're committed to being accountable to our generous supporters. To that regard, I want to share with you a profile of how our COVID-19 Hotline has been a support to vulnerable families affected by the coronavirus.
Check out Religions for Peace covering our work on their blog site. Read Hotline for Hope. Our hotline for hope also demonstrates the incredible partnerships we've been able to establish across the Muslim nonprofit landscape, with partners like: Zakat Fund of NYC, Muslims Against Hunger, Turning Point for Women and Families, and more!
John, we're in the last ten days before we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, a celebration that brings together communities in charity around the world. We are relying on your support to ensure that we can continue to support the families calling into our hotline. As you can see, cash assistance remains the number one need. I can tell you that the need is much greater than our ability to provide. There are no other sources of immediate cash assistance programs to families hence they rely on MCN to provide this cash. Check out this GoFundMe page that we created for the Warda family who were referred to MCN for assistance. While we were only able to pay from our emergency grocery assistance fund, they need more support. There are many more families like the Warda family who call in every week for assistance.
While we're unable to physically be in the spiritual comfort of the Ka'ba and the home of our Prophet (SAW), we can most definitely practice the rituals of the Hajj in our hearts by making a donation to support families in need through our hotline.
With Gratitude,
Aniqa Nawabi
