This can’t wait, John: White supremacists are taking advantage of lax gun laws to obtain deadly weapons and incite violence across our country.

Just last month, a member of the "boogaloo" movement – an extremist, pro-gun subculture aligned with the far-right and white nationalists – shot multiple people with a hand-assembled, military-style “ghost gun."

Let’s be clear: Hate and bigotry should not be armed. But loopholes are allowing prohibited purchasers to skirt background checks and extreme risk protection orders with untraceable, unregulated ghost guns – even AR-15-style assault rifles (!) – at an alarming rate. And sales of these unchecked weapons are surging during the coronavirus pandemic.

We’re fighting back with everything we have at Brady because white supremacist violence and the proliferation of ghost guns pose a lethal threat to all of our communities. It’s time we push back and demand our legislators fight hate and ensure prohibited purchasers are never able to obtain a firearm. But we need to know you’re by our side on this critical issue, John:

11:59 P.M. DEADLINE

Since 2011, there have been 17 white-supremacist-led mass shootings, from Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina to Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – but Mitch McConnell has stonewalled EVERY piece of legislation that could help keep our communities safer from mass shootings. McConnell has proven time and again that he’s in the pocket of the NRA and will stop at nothing to prevent common-sense bipartisan gun safety legislation from passing.

That’s why we need top supporters like you to speak out on this vital issue, our voices are stronger together. But we’re still 12 responses short from and your name is missing! We can’t keep this petition open past 11:59 p.m., so please add your name now:

Add your name to condemn white supremacy and demand Congress take action to stop hateful gun violence!
