A Message from Gabe:

Greetings Rhode Islanders,

Health care costs are going up, and many families in Rhode Island are struggling to afford care. Republicans have not introduced legislation to fix this crisis. They passed the Big, Ugly Law that took $1 trillion from our health care system. And on December 31, the tax credits that helped more than 40,000 Rhode Islanders afford health insurance through HealthSource RI, our state’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange, expired after Republicans did not vote to extend the tax credits.

This week, House Democrats took action. We forced a vote to extend these tax credits for three more years. I proudly voted yes. Now the Senate must pass it, and the President must sign it into law so people afford care.

This did not have to be so hard. These tax credits could have been extended last year. But Republican leaders did not work with Democrats. Now, 22 million Americans are being forced to choose between paying for health care, soaring rent costs, or putting food on the table.

I will keep sharing your stories as the action to extend the tax credits heads towards the Senate. The health care crisis affects all of us, no matter how you get your care. Rhode Islanders deserve better and that’s why I’ll keep fighting to lower costs and save health care.

Sincerely,

Member of Congress

By slamming the brakes on offshore wind projects, Trump's policies are jeopardizing union jobs and forcing higher energy costs on Rhode Islanders.

Proud to stand with Rhode Island leaders to fight back against Trump’s anti-job growth and pro high-cost policy agenda.

I demanded the Acting Inspectors General of the Departments of Commerce and State immediately investigate potential conflicts of interest and ethics violations by President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and Russia, Steve Witkoff.

Evidence suggests that Mr. Witkoff is enriching himself and his family by making cryptocurrency deals with foreign financial backers while jet-setting between sensitive international negotiations supposedly on behalf of the American people. An investigation is needed to ensure that his conflicts of interest do not compromise our national security.

Countering Trump's Policies in the Courts

The Trump administration's policies are being challenged and overturned in court. The American people are standing up against the administration, and the courts continue to side with the people.

Recent Courtroom Wins:

✅ SUPREME COURT BLOCKS NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT — The Supreme Court turned away the Trump administration's request to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago, resulting in troops being sent home.
