John,
Congressional Republicans have once again caved to Donald Trump. It all happened yesterday on the House floor in dramatic fashion.
Trump vetoed two bipartisan, Republican-led bills that helped states deal with local environmental issues — including a water pipeline in Colorado and a flood control project in Florida.
They both passed the House unanimously!
Trump didn’t veto these bills because they were bad policies. He did it because it’s a part of his ongoing revenge campaign targeting blue states and a specific tribe in Florida who he felt wasn’t sufficiently following his immigration policies.
Heading into the vote yesterday, everyone expected Democrats and Republicans to come together and override Trump's veto. We thought the dam was finally breaking… but then Republicans bowed down to Trump again — even on a bill they passed just a month ago.
We need to elect a Congress that isn’t afraid to stand up to Trump and protect our environment. Will you chip in now to help elect a new generation of climate champions? [[link removed]]
