This is not the news we were hoping to share just days before our big July fundraising deadline, but our Republican opponent just outraised us for the first time in our pre-primary fundraising filing.

Now the margin was close, our $2.1 million to their $2.2 million. But it's still significant. It means that their fundraising operation is in full swing and we can't afford to get comfortable, even for one day.

Now the way we see it, we have two options here.

1. We either need more people to chip in and show they have Mark's back.
2. Or we need everyone donating to give just a little more.
