2026 is an election year in Maryland — but for nearly three months,
starting on Wednesday, I won’t be allowed to raise a single dollar so that
we can focus on the important work of driving progress forward for
Marylanders.

That’s a real challenge for my team. These early months are when most
campaigns build their momentum. It’s when they get the fuel for their
organizing, advertising, and ability to define the race. And that’s what
my Republican opponents will be doing the entire time my team has their
hands tied.

While we’re in the fundraising freeze, Republicans will spend every day
raising money, meeting with Trump’s advisors, and collecting massive
checks from special-interest donors who want to flip this seat.

That’s why the short time we have left is critical. We’ve got less than a
