John, it's Colin. With a vote to ban stock trading among members of Congress potentially coming in the new year, I'm asking you and 10,000 people to add your name to sign my petition and help end congressional stock trading once and for all.

In my six years in Congress, I never traded a single stock, and I pledge to continue not trading stocks when I return to the House.
Why? Because members of Congress have access to insider information – and profiting off it is flat-out wrong.
Unfortunately, I was the exception. The alarming truth is that members of Congress and their families regularly trade stocks in the industries they regulate, creating conflicts of interest.
Folks who use confidential information to make federal policy shouldn't be allowed to play the stock market – plain and simple. That's why since day one, I've sworn to never trade stocks as an elected official.
Even though this seems like a commonsense policy, lawmakers are trading stocks left and right, putting their own self-interest above the people they were elected to represent.
The good news is that a vote on legislation to ban members of Congress from owning or trading individual stocks could happen soon, making it especially important for us to speak up now.
That's why today, I'm calling on 10,000 folks to sign my petition before midnight calling for a ban on stock trading among members of Congress once and for all – and that includes you, John. Will you add your name now?
