We know long-term, on-the-ground organizing—often led by people of color—lays the foundation for the real change our communities deserve.
That’s why, through our State Bridges program last year, we invested in nine local organizations across five states, who are building non-partisan civic power year-round—and we're already laying the groundwork to continue investing in local organizers in 2026. Here is what that support helped our State Bridges partners accomplish last year:

ARIZONA
Arizona Center for Empowerment:
- Defeated 12 anti-immigrant bills, including one paying police $2,500 per detained undocumented person
- Organized 18 actions with 500+ participants, demanding fair and humane immigration laws
RAZE
- Expanded the Protect Our Pueblos campaign with a hotline and resources for those impacted by immigration policies
- Identified ICE activity in rural borderlands and coordinated rapid response with state partners
MICHIGAN
We The People Action Fund
- Increased their base by 7,000 individuals statewide, now over 20,000 engaged Michiganders
- Secured funding for Traverse City homeless shelter, free drivers’ ed in Benton Harbor, and formed renters unions in Southfield and Lansing
Mothering Justice
- Knocked on 55,399 doors, had 14,955 conversations, and made 18,270 phone calls to engage Michigan residents
- Launched the Black Womxn Win fellowship with 32 participants, providing training and mentorship to empower Black women leaders
PENNSYLVANIA
Pennsylvania Stands Up Institute
- Created a Statewide Housing Team that brought together housing leaders from across Pennsylvania for training and strategy
- Advocated for taxing billionaires and funding schools, housing, transit, clean air, and water
Pittsburgh United
- Knocked on 59,154 doors and had conversations with 3,957 Pennsylvanians
- Hosted 3 housing town halls allowing deep canvassing conversations on affordable housing
WISCONSIN
Citizen Action of Wisconsin Education Fund
- Mobilized nearly 100 people to participate in two Lobby Days of Action
- Ran an education mail campaign for state superintendent races
WISDOM
- Knocked 40,000+ doors and engaged 10,000+ Wisconsinites in a non-partisan manner to educate on the historic Supreme Court election.
- Organized a Lobby Day with 700+ leaders from across the state
VIRGINIA
New Virginia Majority Action Fund
- Made 120,000 calls to Virginians tracking key issues
- Supported non-partisan voter education and Get Out the Vote efforts for the June 17th primary
