He has been such an advocate through the years on the issue of border security. He is the foremost expert on it. Most of us have learned what we know about the border from him.

He was key and very instrumental in ensuring that there were resources in the One Big, Beautiful Bill to reimburse the state of Texas for all the money they put out to secure the border, because the federal government was not doing its job.

Billions and billions and billions of dollars are going to flow back to the state of Texas to reimburse them for the costs they had to endure during the Biden border crisis.
