This is The Torchlight, our weekly newsletter keeping you informed on the
fight to reignite the American Dream — and how you can make a difference in
your community.
Hello John,
As many of us return to reality after the festive season, I hope you were able
to spend meaningful time with family and friends.
But I’ve also heard from many of you that rising costs made this holiday
season harder than it should have been.
American families are still reeling from affordability concerns driven by
inflation caused by the Biden administration’s reckless spending policies.
This year, they didn’t just add stress — they changed how families celebrated.
Last week, AFP shared a poll
<[link removed]>
(some of you may have seen) about how thecost of living is negatively
affecting your holiday.
Here are the results: More than 61% said rising costs had a high or severe
impact on their holiday.
* Many also said they bought fewer gifts for their kids,
* spent less time visiting children and grandchildren,
* and cut back on holiday meals.
In 2026, AFP will be all hands on deck to make life more affordable.
Our policy team will be your voice in Washington, advancing effective
solutions while sharing your concerns directly with lawmakers.
At the same time, our grassroots volunteers will be pounding the pavement to
share our vision of a freer America.
Please stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved with AFP. Volunteers
like you can make an impact in Washington and your state capitols, and we’ll
have plenty of opportunities this year.
In the meantime, can you take one minute to send a letter

to your lawmakers and let them know that affordability is a top priority for
Americans in 2026?
