Hi John,
The child care system is under attack by the Trump administration, which is using unfounded claims of fraud to take actions that will make child care more expensive for families, make children less safe, and make it harder for child care centers to stay open.

Register: Emergency Briefing & Strategy Session ([link removed])
The attacks are coming from all fronts. The Trump administration has suspended funds for needy families in five Democratic-led states, and is also proposing to repeal ([link removed]) a rule that makes child care more affordable for those receiving subsidies across the country. And reports are coming ([link removed]) out of Ohio, Idaho, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, Maine, and San Diego, California, that right-wing influencers have been showing up at day care centers terrorizing children, parents, and providers.
The State Innovation Exchange ([link removed]) , National Women's Law Center ([link removed]) , and Child Care For Every Family Network ([link removed]) are hosting an emergency briefing ([link removed]) and strategy session on Friday, January 16th at 1 pm EST to make sense of the Trump Administration's latest multi-pronged attacks on childcare in the states, and how to take action. We have also launched a toolkit ([link removed]) that we will update regularly with the latest policy, messaging, and actions for legislators.
The Trump administration is putting children, families, and providers at risk—destabilizing families, threatening the closure of small child care businesses, and damaging our broader economy, all while doing nothing to address the ongoing child care and affordability crisis.
Meanwhile, state leaders like you are taking action to protect all children and families ([link removed]) and deliver universal childcare for all ([link removed]) . A better future is possible. Thank you for your relentless commitment to building an economy that works for us all.
In Solidarity,
Ida Eskamani
