Project Description: The project involves building a 7-mile pipeline and pump station to transfer up to 1,000 acre-feet of renewable water annually from Plum Creek (including alluvial and reusable supplies) to Rueter-Hess Reservoir, enabling Castle Rock Water to store more sustainable water for drought resilience, peak summer/fall demands, and long-term supply reliability for over 200,000 people in Douglas County, while also enhancing the reservoir's recreational value. This helps Castle Rock transition away from over-reliance on non-renewable groundwater.
