John — something pretty funny (and pretty telling) just
happened in Washington.
Back in July, Summer Lee and Emilia Sykes introduced the HOMES Act — a
bold bill to crack down on massive corporate investors buying up
single-family homes, driving up prices, and squeezing regular people out
of their own communities.
Fast forward to this week: Donald Trump suddenly announced he wants to
“ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes”
and urged Congress to codify it. If that sounds familiar… that’s because
it is. That’s basically Summer’s bill.
Summer couldn’t resist calling it out, tweeting: “@RepEmiliaSykes and I
already have a bill that does exactly this, cracking down on corporate
investors buying local homes and driving up housing prices. Thanks for
your support, Mr. President.”
Snarky? Absolutely. Accurate? Even more so.

even Trump is trying to copy them. That’s what happens when you lead with
