I am excited to announce that Unity Rising USA has endorsed my campaign for Tempe City Council and our fight to build an affordable Tempe for everyone.
For those who may not be familiar, Unity Rising USA is a young people led organization that organizes directly on high school campuses, often in places where Turning Point USA has a presence. They give students a real choice when it comes to politics and show up where it takes courage to do so.
That is why this endorsement means so much to me. Unity Rising USA knows how to recognize what matters. They have the courage to organize on campuses where intimidation is real, and they have the courage to stand with me in this race.
Some people hear that I am a member of the DSA and make assumptions. In reality, it simply means I believe government should work for everyone and that everyone should be able to afford to participate in it. Unity Rising USA is supporting me because they believe I can deliver real, material change.
But endorsements alone do not win elections. To make this vision real, we have to win, and winning takes resources. As much as I wish it were otherwise, grassroots campaigns depend on people stepping up.
We have less than three months to go, and we are preparing to hire additional organizers to reach voters across Tempe. I believe in paying people a living wage, and I am asking for your help to make that possible.
