We wanted to bump Donald's email because as of today, it's been eleven years since the last federal minimum wage increase. If you think 11 years is too long to wait to raise the minimum wage, sign Donald's petition to demand Mitch McConnell bring the Raise the Wage Act up for a vote in the Senate.

It was exactly one year ago today that I helped the House pass H.R. 582 -- the Raise the Wage Act -- which would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025. This legislation put the words of a movement into action. For so long, the idea of a $15 minimum wage was thrown around as a progressive campaign talking point. We finally put that talk into action one year ago today by passing the Raise the Wage Act in the House.

But a year later, this bill still sits on Mitch McConnell's desk. That's unacceptable.

Mitch McConnell takes pride in his nickname "the grim reaper," which refers to the countless bills he's allowing to die in the Senate. Shame on him. The Raise the Wage Act wouldn't instantly fix income inequality in our country, but as someone who's worked for the minimum wage, I can say with authority that this legislation is a meaningful way to start.

Join me in demanding Mitch McConnell pass the Raise the Wage Act in the Senate to help working families get by. Sign my petition today.


It's because of obstructive politicians like McConnell that the federal minimum wage hasn't been raised in over ten years. Because of yes-men like him, the federally mandated minimum wage doesn't take inflation -- or any other changes that have occurred in the last ten years -- into account. That means countless workers across America are only making the starvation wage of $7.25 an hour.

It's long past time we gave hardworking Americans their due. My Democratic colleagues in the House have done our job by passing the Raise the Wage Act. Now it's time for Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate to do theirs.

Tell Mitch McConnell: step up and do your job. Pass the Raise the Wage Act in the Senate!
