Gov. Newsom’s final formal address

Today was an important day, John: Governor Gavin Newsom gave his final State of the State address.

This is the Governor’s final State of the State address to the California Legislature. But he didn’t phone it in or shy away from the tough topics.

He called out Donald Trump and the “carnival of chaos” of his current administration. And we couldn’t be more appreciative.

Will you take 15 seconds and add your name to our card thanking Gov. Gavin Newsom for everything he has done over the last eight years? Imagine if he hadn’t stepped up last year. Donald Trump’s election-rigging scheme would’ve succeeded and the 2026 Midterms may already be over with a presumptive GOP victory. His leadership has been critical, and now we want to say thanks.

Take a minute to read some of the Governor’s most powerful quotes from today’s address:

“We face an assault on our values unlike anything I’ve seen in my life.”

“The federal government, respectfully, it's unrecognizable, protecting the powerful at the expense of the vulnerable.”

“[To this President], courts are simply speed bumps, not stop signs, that democracy is a nuisance to be circumvented, secret police, businesses being raided, windows smashed, citizens detained, citizens shot, masked men snatching people in broad daylight, people disappearing, using American cities as training grounds for the United States military.”

“It’s time for the President of the United States to act like a President for all of the United States.”

“In California, we are not silent. We are not hunkering down. We are not retreating. We are a beacon.”

The entire speech was a sight to see, especially in contrast to the divisive and chaotic “leadership” from President Trump.

As Gov. Newsom enters his last year in office, we want him to know that we appreciate his leadership. Will you please sign our card now?
