John,
Our state forests are more than beautiful: they hold unique, complex ecosystems that are hundreds and thousands of years old. Yet, they have undergone decades of clear cutting. By clear cutting these old-growth forests, we lose an entire ecosystem that can never be replaced.
Clear-cutting is ecological erasure . I’m emailing you today to ask for your help to speak up for our precious state forests, so they can continue standing tall. Will you take action to stand up for our forests today? [[link removed]]

The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) has opened a comment period as they begin drafting their new Forest Management Plan, which will guide forest management in Western Oregon for the next decade. Now is our chance to tell them to stop clear cutting! [[link removed]]
There are two ways you can stand with our forests this winter:
1. Send your message to ODF now by clicking here [[link removed]]
2. Attend one of the hearings to show your support for old-growth forests
* * Jan. 13 — Virtual hearing ( register here with ODF [[link removed]] )
* Jan. 15 — Forest Grove Community Center (1915 Main St., Forest Grove)
* Jan. 20 — Tillamook ODF Office (5005 3rd St., Tillamook)
* Jan. 22 — Lane Events Center (796 W 13th Ave., Eugene)

If you’d like talking points for these hearings, reply to this email or send your message to ODF and receive them in your confirmation email.

The future of these forests, and their balance, quite literally is in our hands. Clear-cutting is an erasure of our past and future. It only takes a few clicks to send ODF your message today, to ensure that these forests will continue standing tall. [[link removed]]
Together,
