Alexander Van Hook, like every single Trump nominee, refused to answer basic questions about reality.
When asked who won the 2020 election (and explicitly told the question was not about certification), Van Hook dodged, saying “Congress certified Joe Biden as the winner.”
When pressed further, he stonewalled.
When asked about January 6 — one of the most violent attacks on our democracy in modern history — Van Hook repeatedly responded with, “I cannot provide an answer.”
If someone can’t acknowledge basic, indisputable facts, how can they possibly be trusted to fairly interpret the law or uphold the Constitution?
Trump’s nominees are disqualifying themselves by failing to acknowledge basic facts, dodging accountability, and refusing to condemn an insurrection. They hide behind crafted non-answers and avoid admitting reality.
Yet Senate Democrats continue to vote yes. This is not normal — and it will only stop if they face real political pressure.
