Washington is sometimes brutal these days. We’ve seen deep cuts to Medicare and food assistance, and as of last week, many New Yorkers have seen their insurance premiums rise sky high. All to fund tax cuts for billionaires. 

New Yorkers need steady, independent leadership at home, and that’s exactly what Tom DiNapoli does as our State Comptroller.

He has stayed focused on protecting New Yorkers by providing the independent oversight we depend on – safeguarding one of the strongest pension funds in the country, auditing state and local government, and exposing waste, fraud, and abuse. 

As a federal official, I rely on Tom’s leadership. His role as State Comptroller is one of the most important checks New Yorkers have when national politics threaten our economic stability.

But that work is now at risk.

Tom DiNapoli is facing a competitive primary, with well-funded opponents already trying to weaken one of the most effective financial watchdogs in state government. If we want him to continue protecting retirees, taxpayers, and working families, then we need to act now.

Tom DiNapoli has a critical fundraising deadline on Sunday, January 11th. That’s why I’m asking again: can you split a $20 donation today?

Thanks to New York’s matching funds program, contributions of $250 and under are matched six-to-one, meaning your contribution goes significantly further in this fight.

This isn’t just about a campaign. It’s about keeping a proven, independent protector in place at a time when so much else feels uncertain.
