Hey John, it’s Hannah Pingree.
I’m running for governor to bring people across Maine together to tackle our state’s toughest challenges, even when we don’t always agree. I knew as Speaker of the Maine House how to bring people together - to pass bi-partisan budgets and invest in our kids. But I also knew how to win, even when it wasn't easy or popular, like when I helped lead the fight to pass gay marriage.

After spending several months traveling on a housing tour across Maine's communities to hear about what's working and what's not, I released my comprehensive Housing Affordability Plan.
After hearing from countless other Mainers who are juggling skyrocketing premiums, unpredictable out-of-pocket costs, and a complex and unforgiving health care system, I laid out how I would tackle our insurance crisis head-on as governor to get us closer to universal coverage.
And now, as we head into election year, I want to check in on the issues that matter most to you. Because when we listen to one another and work together, that’s how we get big things done.
That’s what I did as a state legislator and Speaker of the Maine House and Director of the Office of the Future: I brought people together to lower healthcare costs, build housing, and protect kids' health by holding the chemical industry accountable.
My campaign is about more than what we’re up against–it’s about the direction we’re going and how we build a better future for Maine.
