Team,
Today marks 11 years since the federal minimum wage was increased to $7.25 in 2009.
Since then, inflation has steadily increased, and so has the cost of living, leaving more Americans struggling to feed their families and pay the rent. But the minimum wage has not risen to meet those costs.
The Raise the Wage Act would finally raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2025 and index future increases to inflation, helping working families that are struggling to make ends meet. Andy was proud to co-sponsor the Raise the Wage Act in the House last year, but the bill is still sitting on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's desk.
If you're with Andy, add your name to tell Mitch McConnell it's time to bring the Raise the Wage Act to a vote >>
ADD YOUR NAME
In the United States, no one should have to worry about being able to pay rent or feed their family.
All workers deserve to be paid a living wage, especially during a global pandemic when many of the essential workers we rely on are still making $7.25. We owe it to them to pay them fairly.
Will you add your name to call on Mitch McConnell to allow for a vote on the Raise the Wage act?
Thank you,
Team Kim
