Yesterday, ICE shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
Renee was 37 years old — a writer, a wife, and a mother whose life was cut short by a reckless and power-crazed ICE agent.
Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and MAGA Republicans are already trying to claim this was “self-defense,” but video and eyewitness accounts dispute that narrative, showing Renee was attempting to drive away when an agent opened fire.
And it didn’t stop there. Witnesses report that ICE vehicles blocked ambulance access and refused to allow a physician on scene to provide emergency medical care. Emergency crews were forced to abandon their ambulance and approach the victim on foot with no stretcher.
The Trump administration has called Renee a “domestic terrorist.” But we all know that’s a lie and a sick and cruel attempt to justify an act of violence that never should have happened in the first place.
We cannot undo what was taken from Renee’s family, but we can show up for her family in the most immediate way possible.
