Dear Neighbor,
On January 1st, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits that saved hardworking families thousands of dollars on their health insurance premiums expired due to inaction by the Republican-led Congress. Now, millions of Americans are seeing their monthly health premiums skyrocket.
I’ve been fighting for months to extend these tax credits, protect your access to health care, and keep your hard-earned money in your pocket.
This week, Congress has one last chance to pass a three-year extension of these tax credits and reverse these outrageous premium increases.
While I believe much more must be done to fix our health care system, it is clear that without the extension, four million Americans will be priced out of their health care. Millions will lose their health care entirely, forgo lifesaving care, and health insurance prices will go up for all of us.
I know that to many of you, these tax credits could be the difference between having enough money to pay for health care, groceries, and rent, or having to make a choice between them.
Have you gotten notice that your premiums are rising? Help me share your story in Washington by filling out this form.
I rely heavily on the experiences of my constituents and their stories to aid me in this fight to protect health care and ensure that my colleagues fully understand the effects of taking away the ACA tax credits.
