While I was working for progress and the common good at the National Science Foundation, Lauren Boebert was driving her firearm-themed restaurant into bankruptcy.
I was part of the team that successfully pushed a divided Congress to pass two different infrastructure bills that created thousands of jobs in my district. Boebert voted against each of those bills, and then claimed credit for those projects afterward.
I promoted science, life-saving research, and care for all. Boebert helped the world’s first trillionaire take a literal chainsaw to the federal government, wiping away decades of progress on cures for cancer and cancelling critical research into pediatric cancers and other diseases.
When I returned home to care for my parents, both of whom passed away from cancer within months of each other, Boebert was kicked out of a Sunday afternoon showing of Beetlejuice for rudely vaping and sexually groping her boyfriend around children.
So John, this is why we’re so passionate about this campaign. People are finally seeing through Boebert’s nonsense. But unless we work hard right now to win, we will miss our best shot at getting rid of her — for good.
Boebert barely squeaked out her re-election, winning by only 546 votes. And when I ran against her in 2024, we had the best performance a Democrat has ever had in the district—outperforming Kamala Harris by 6 points in a red wave election.
