John, I am devastated by the ICE shooting that took place in Minneapolis yesterday that claimed an innocent woman's life.

Her name was Renee Nicole Good. She was a mother. And as both a civil rights attorney and a father, I am deeply outraged and saddened by her passing.
|

Renee was described by those who love her as compassionate, creative, and kind. City leaders have said she was present as a legal observer – someone there to help ensure rights were respected. However you look at the facts, one thing is clear: a life was taken, and a family and a community are grieving.

No family should lose a loved one this way. No community should be forced to live in fear of those entrusted with power. And yet, here we are.

|
It's as clear as ever that ICE has become a rogue agency – operating recklessly, terrorizing communities, and now taking lives.
So to every community terrorized by these tactics, I want you to know that I see you. I stand with you. And I won’t stop fighting until you’re safe.
