Now that we’re on the air with our first TV ad, I wanted to pull back the curtain and explain a bit of our strategy.
We’re taking a risk to go big this early with a seven-figure ad buy.
But without the benefit of past statewide and federal campaigns, we’ve got a much steeper challenge than our opponents to get our message in front of voters. Making this big of an investment this early is a necessary gamble if we’re going to reach the voters we need to win.
Polling shows that our message in this movement to take back power for working people is resonating with the people we’ve been able to reach. Our fight against corporate and billionaire mega-donors rigging the system energizes everyone and brings Texans together, no matter their background.
But it doesn’t matter if people don’t hear from us. So that’s why we decided to go on the air earlier. But it’s going to stretch our budget. We still have to raise the money to fund the full ad buy and keep our message in front of voters as early voting is set to begin soon.
Can we count on you to chip in to keep our ads on the air? It would be a huge setback to have to cut back now, so we have to keep our fundraising up as much as possible.
