Yesterday, a woman was murdered in Minneapolis by an ICE agent.

And almost immediately after this was reported, Kristi Noem & the Trump administration began lying to try and cover it up.

They claim the ICE agent acted in self-defense. Video evidence directly contradicts them. This is what happens when an agency is allowed to operate with impunity.

This is why I have taken the first step towards impeaching Kristi Noem and dismantling ICE.

I will do everything in my power to hold this administration accountable—for the murders of Renee Good in Minneapolis and Silverio Villegas Gonzalez in Franklin Park, the shooting of Marimar Martinez in Chicago, and the 32 people who died in ICE custody last year.

Their deaths are the inevitable outcome of a system designed to dehumanize, intimidate, and terrorize our communities. When federal agents are given unchecked power, people die.

We cannot allow this to be normalized. We cannot allow lies to replace the truth. And we cannot allow DHS and ICE to continue acting as judge, jury, and executioner in our cities.

I will keep demanding accountability. I will keep calling out their unlawful actions. And I will keep fighting to end an immigration enforcement regime that treats human life as disposable. Our communities deserve to be safe from violence committed by the federal government.

I won’t stop until justice is served.
