Yesterday, a 37-year-old woman was shot and killed by federal ICE agents in Minneapolis.

She was a U.S. citizen. She was observing an ICE raid in her neighborhood. An agent shot her directly in the face multiple times.

While most Americans were rightly horrified and trying to wrap their heads around how something like this could have happened, Nancy Mace tweeted this: 

FAFO stands for “f*ck around and find out.”

South Carolinians deserve a leader who stands with them against federal government overreach, not someone who will watch them be killed in broad daylight and say that they deserved it.

Elected officials should be asking why federal agents were conducting a militarized operation in a residential neighborhood in the first place, and why they faced no immediate accountability after killing a civilian. 

But Nancy Mace would rather make jokes. 

This is the direction our country is being pushed toward, and we have to come together and make it stop. South Carolinians deserve leadership grounded in humanity, restraint, and the rule of law. I am running for governor to stop this kind of extremism from taking root here.
