Don’t be distracted by the nonsense and noise.

As we kick off the New Year, I want to address something head on. The number
one question I’m being asked by stakeholders isn’t about our opponents. It’s
some variation of: “is it true what I’m ‘hearing’ about Burt Jones?”

By “hearing,” the person means they’ve seen an ad, gotten a text, or seen a
paid ad online that is part of an ongoing, untraceable super-funded
multimillion-dollar campaign to attack, besmirch, and smear our Lt. Governor.
While we do not know who is coordinating or funding these attacks, I do know
one thing:this ad campaign plays right into the hands of the Left’s agenda to
take control of our state.

Don’t be distracted by the nonsense and noise.

If we are going to win in November, our focus has to be on determining what a
candidate believes, assessing their ability to implement their agenda, and
vetting the game plan to win. Cheap, especially anonymous, attacks against
whomever and in whatever race are counterproductive.

Asking serious questions about policy and electability are important. Petty
nonsense could cause serious damage come November. That’s why I’m urging all of
our aligned candidates to run positive races that make the case for why they
should be the standard bearers of the conservative movement and why they are
our best shot for victory.

Since millions of dollars are being spent to attack Burt and I’m getting lots
of questions, let me say two things directly in response to these ads:

* Burt comes from a successful family. His family has made lots of money and
has lots of different business interests. It’s money they’ve earned through hard
work, smart decisions, and the American Dream, not because Burt is involved in
politics. The attacks against his character – suggesting that because he’s
wealthy, he is in politics for himself – are desperate, cheap, and straight
from the Democrat playbook. These are the same types of attacks Obama used
against Romney, Hillary and Harris used against Trump, and all sorts of jealous
people used against Kelly Loeffler.Liberals hate successful people.
Conservatives celebrate them. Let’s not play their game!
* On every Frontline issue, Burt Jones and his team have been unafraid. Never
once have I asked them to engage in anything and gotten pushback because of
potential media coverage or negative effects on Burt’s political career or
business interests. One of my strong first impressions of him came when he was
still in the State Senate and he voted against a popular bill – one of only six
people to do so – simply because it was the right thing to do. From our Lt.
Governor, I’ve seen guts and fortitude. Never self-interest.

To be clear, this is not an endorsement email. To be candid, there are times
and issues where the Lt. Governor and I have not always agreed, though I think
a conservative estimate would put our agreement levels at roughly 98.374% 😊

Frankly, I disagree with, shake my head at, and get frustrated by a host of
attacks at just about every conservative candidate – not just attacks leveled
against Burt Jones.

With the stakes this high, I just think cheap shots against fellow
conservatives are silly whether it’s about wearing the color orange, the
supposed actions of staff, or whether a particular candidate hasn’t gotten an
invite to Mar-a-Lago in a while.Yeah, that’s politics, but it’s silly politics.

However, with millions of anonymous dollars being spent to divide us and a ton
of questions flowing my way, I want to be clear about three things:

* Burt Jones has been a great Lt. Governor.
* I want to hear more from him about his vision for our state and his path to
victory in November – just like the other conservative candidates for statewide
office.
* I don’t want to hear more about those stupid ads.

These are serious times. Let’s not get distracted. Let’s win.

To Victory,

Cole

PS. Many of you have asked our plans to endorse in particular races. Right
now, I’m watching. Intently. We will soon announce a date and venue where all
our aligned candidates will be invited to discuss their vision for our state. I
hope to hear from them there. Whether we endorse in primaries or not, though,
our goal is to be your trusted source of information – helping you sift through
the noise. To support our work, click here.
