[ [link removed] ]It's a new year—here's how you can power this work
Hi,
With 2026 now in full swing—and Congress and state legislatures back in
session—Everytown for Gun Safety remains laser-focused on our work to keep
communities safe from gun violence by taking on the gun lobby, pressuring
lawmakers to advance gun safety policies, and helping Gun Sense Candidates
win at the ballot box this year.
We know that this will be a consequential year for our movement as we
continue to witness a Trump administration that is ready and willing to
help the gun lobby advance its reckless guns everywhere agenda.
To fight back, we'll be working double time in state legislatures across
the country to build on our victories last year—victories like passing an
assault weapons ban in Rhode Island and helping to pass a
first-in-the-nation bill in California that bans the sale of pistols that
can be converted into machine guns—while also blocking dangerous rollbacks
that keep us less safe, like permitless carry.
And on the federal level, we're facing off against the gun lobby’s agenda,
including the Concealed Carry Mandate: a dangerous bill that would gut
state gun laws, put our safety at risk, and trample on states' rights.
Make no mistake, gun lobby-backed politicians in Congress are determined
to get it passed regardless of the danger it poses to our communities.
These may seem like big, tough challenges, but combating gun violence and
doing the work to keep our children and communities safe means we can't
give up. Not now. Not ever.
The stakes may be high, but if we remain fearless, relentless, and work
together, we can bring about a future where every family can live without
the fear of gun violence. [ [link removed] ]Are you ready to work together by making your
