Peace Now Reports on Tenders for Settlement Construction in E1 Peace Now reported Monday on new tenders for the construction of 3401 new housing units in the E1 area. This move continues the rapid pace of construction in the area just east of Jerusalem. The development of E1 has always been a hot button issue. It endangers the future of a two-state solution by bisecting the West Bank and by preventing Palestinian urban development. As Peace Now notes, the Israeli government's move is reckless and "intended to create irreversible facts on the ground leading to a one-state reality." |

Get Congress to Act on Settlements As news about more and more settlement expansion keeps coming, we have the chance to get Congress to speak out. Senator Welch and Representative Khanna are looking for additional members of Congress to join a letter urging Secretary of State Rubio to push back more forcefully against Israeli government actions in the West Bank. The letter includes calls for the administration to oppose settlement construction in E-1, to oppose the pro-annexation Knesset bills, and to reinstate the Biden-era sanctions against violent settlers. |
