Yesterday, in Minneapolis, ICE murdered an innocent woman named Renee Nicole Good in cold blood.

Many of us saw the video. What happened was clear as day. The ICE officer who fired the fatal shots had no reason to even draw his weapon. It was not self-defense.

But that’s not stopping the sick tyrants who currently inhabit the White House to spin a web of lies.

Within minutes of the shooting, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem rushed to say that Renee, an artist, poet, and mother of three, was engaged in “an act of domestic terrorism” at the time she was killed. That's an absurd and downright evil lie.

DHS followed up with an official statement claiming that Renee was “attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them”, something that is completely unbelievable to anyone who watches the video.

Trump made a statement that Renee “viciously ran over the ICE Officer” and that “it’s hard to believe he’s alive” — again, an incredibly delusional lie that is easily disproven by the video, which shows the officer not only dodge the vehicle, but walk away unscathed. A day later, there is still no indication that the officer was even hurt.

Think about this. The government killed an innocent woman and immediately jumped to defame her and lie about what happened in order to avoid accountability. The Trump administration is telling you: Don’t believe your own eyes. It’s downright dystopian.

The fact of the matter is that this murder would never have happened if ICE wasn’t doing everything it can to escalate, terrorize, and punish the citizens of Minneapolis. We’ve had enough.

ICE is a rogue agency operating as a personal police squad for the President. They’re only in Minneapolis because he sent them there to punish his political enemies and make a show of enacting violence on a Democratic city with immigrant communities.

I have led the charge in Congress to Abolish ICE and do away with these masked thugs for years. Now, it is abundantly clear to Americans of all backgrounds that this must be an urgent priority, before more people are killed and more chaos is sowed.

Please, take just 30 seconds today and sign my petition calling to Abolish ICE and prosecute ICE agents for any and all crimes against our fellow Americans. This is not law enforcement. This is not immigration enforcement. This is reckless authoritarianism, and we must fight back.
