Yesterday in Minneapolis, an ICE agent shot and killed a protester named Renee Nicole Good.

Renee was a writer. A mom. She was killed in the neighborhood where she lived.

Videos of the shooting spread quickly online. They all show the same thing: Renee did not attack or harm the ICE agent who killed her.

What happened next was as predictable as it was alarming.

* Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that the agent acted in “self-defense,” falsely asserting that Renee tried to use her car as a weapon — something not shown in the publicly available footage.
* Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem doubled down, portraying the killing as a violent attack on law enforcement.
* On Fox News, Jesse Watters mocked Renee on air and dismissed her death while repeating the same narrative — ridiculing her instead of reckoning with what the videos actually show.

From January 6th to yesterday’s killing, this is the MAGA playbook: when violence happens in our communities, they gaslight and rewrite reality. They flood the zone with bullshit until people stop trusting their own eyes.

And what millions of people saw yesterday was both tragic and dangerous: a federal agent killed a woman in her own neighborhood without provocation shown in the footage.
