 It happened. Speaker Johnson refused to hold a vote to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies last year, and the GOP’s inaction has allowed these subsidies to expire. That means that Oregonians and people across the country will see their healthcare costs rise by hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. It’s unacceptable. For me, it's a no-brainer — protecting healthcare for Oregonians and keeping costs low are non-negotiables. That’s why my Democratic colleagues and I are forcing a vote this week to restore the Affordable Care Act tax credits and stop healthcare costs from skyrocketing. It’s time to get this across the finish line. I'm calling on my Republican colleagues in Congress to join us in working to restore these subsidies and deliver a better quality of life for hardworking Americans — and I need your support.
