The City of Green River, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at *7:00 PM, local time, on February 3, 2026*. The meeting will be in the Council Chambers at 50 E 2nd North Street in Green River, WY 82935. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the proposed Teton Water Tank Rehabilitation Project.
Teton Tank is a *1,000,000-gallon* drinking water storage tank that was originally constructed in 1976. Teton Tank is located on and services the south side of the City of Green River and provides water storage for approximately 4,000 citizens. The most recent inspection report identified significant corrosion on the interior and exterior of the tank and recommended that the tank be recoated. The City intends to approach the project in phases with the first phase involving a feasibility study to compare rehabilitation to replacement of the tank and determine which is the better path forward. The second phase of the project will include construction of the alternative selected in the feasibility study.
At the meeting, the City of Green River will present an overview of the project, current conditions, potential alternatives, and the plan for funding the improvements.
The City of Green River plans to borrow *$3,000,000* from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. The loan will be repaid using increased user fees. As presented in the 2025 Rate Study, water rates are projected to increase *7%/year.* The annual rate increase, as forecasted in the 2025 Rate Study, accounts for the *$3,000,000* loan assuming loan terms of *1.5% and 20 years.*
