Weekly Poll
I ask. You answer.
We have a President who is willing to take decisive action when necessary. This is something that was talked about for four years under the Biden-Harris Administration. Democrats talked about how much they hated Maduro and how he was a crook and was repressing the people of Venezuela. Watch my latest interview on Newsmax.
Mississippi Football
Mississippians are excited to see one of our great football teams make it to the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona against Miami. I am honored to see the Ole Miss Rebels in the College Football Playoffs.
Legislation on the Floor This Week
H.R. 6938 – Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026
-
H.R. 6938 is an appropriations bill that will provide funding to unleash American energy, ensure access to public lands, and reverse Biden-era regulation policies. The bill will also work to fight against fentanyl and counter the Chinese Communist Party while also advancing economic competitiveness. The goal of this appropriations bill is to keep our government funded through fiscal year 2026.
H.R. 5184 – Affordable HOMES Act
-
H.R. 5184 is a bill that will make housing affordable and restore the American dream of homeownership for millions of families. One way this bill is making homeownership more affordable is reducing energy efficiency standards. The bill will also lower the cost of manufactured housing.
H.R. 4593 – SHOWER Act
-
H.R. 4593 codifies the definition of a showerhead to restore customer choice. This bill allows for improved water flow and restores the original intent of Congress by stating the 2.5GPM refers to the individual faucet and not the entire shower system as the Biden-Harris Administration ruled.
An Appropriations Update
I am honored to work alongside Chairman Cole to bring about regular order for the appropriations process in Congress. In 2025, Congress was able to successfully avoid an end of year omnibus spending bill. Instead, we laid the groundwork for oversight, transparency, and committee deliberation. We have already had three bills signed into law by President Trump, ensuring that the power of the purse stays with Congress. We are returning critical tax dollars to districts across the nation and working to build up infrastructure and keep our nation on track for the next generation. This is a huge accomplishment for Republicans in Congress.
