On January 1, health care tax credits that saved hardworking families thousands of dollars expired due to deliberate inaction by Congress. Republicans control Congress. People across Illinois are now seeing their monthly premiums skyrocket.

Republican policies that made cuts to the ACA, Medicare, and Medicaid affect you even if you don't receive health care coverage from those programs. When people lose coverage and go uninsured, they're more likely to show up to the emergency room. This raises rates for everyone.

I’ve been fighting for months to extend these tax credits, protect your access to health care, and keep your hard-earned money in your pocket.

This week, Congress has one last chance to pass a clean three-year extension of these tax credits and reverse these outrageous premium increases.
