Over the next few months, Arizonans will likely see and hear countless attack ads calling me a "career politician."

That couldn't be further from the truth.

Growing up in a working-class family in Tempe, politics was the furthest thing from my mind. I was focused on my family, studying hard in school, and volunteering at my church.

To pay for school, I flipped burgers at my local Burger King. After graduating, I became a social worker. Then I ran one of the largest domestic violence shelters in the country. And when I finally decided to run for office, it was because I was tired of seeing firsthand how our government was failing everyday Arizonans.

Even after being elected to the State Senate, I drove for Uber to help pay the bills. It wasn’t glamorous. Far from it.

My GOP opponents, on the other hand?

* Andy Biggs has served in public office for over two decades, during which he voted against Medicaid expansion, cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy, and sought to overturn the 2020 election. He’s even recently proposed legislation that would kick millions of Americans off their healthcare.

* Billionaire Karrin Taylor Robson has a long history of being a political insider, despite never having held elected office — she’s even been a registered lobbyist since 1999. Now, she thinks she can simply buy herself the governorship.

* And David Schweikert has been in Congress for 15 years — and is one of the most extreme Republicans in Washington, voting for the Trump agenda 8 out of every 10 times.

John, my GOP opponents will continue to attack me because they know they can't beat me when Arizonans know about the progress I've delivered as governor. That’s why they're going to spend millions to try to trick Arizonans into believing I'm someone I’m not.
