Now, former Vice President Joe Biden has released a much-needed plan calling for a massive investment of $775 billion for child and elder care. Biden's proposal calls for the construction of thousands of new child care facilities, and offers $8,000 tax credits for early childhood education for single-child families and $16,000 for families with two or more children.
 
Not only would Biden's plan support 3 million new jobs, according to EPI’s research, but it provides a major boost to ensure our kids—regardless of the wealth of their families—get the education they deserve. The early childhood years are critical to the successful long-term education of children throughout our country.
 
Giving a boost to working families so they can afford quality pre-K education is long overdue—and will help reverse the chronic inequality in our country. Thank you for all you do to demand an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.
