Perkiomen Project Press Conference/Livestream
|
Tomorrow at 1 p.m., I will be hosting a press conference to discuss the completion of the Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation Study. During the event, I will review the study’s findings and answer questions about its recommendations.
The plan impacts more than 400,000 residents across 50 municipalities in Montgomery, Berks, Lehigh, and Bucks counties. The planning effort identified more than 130 flood-prone sites within the 362-square-mile Perkiomen Creek watershed, with the top 20 designated as Phase 1 priority locations.
Click here to watch live tomorrow (Jan. 8) at 1 p.m.
Joining me will be Montgomery County Commissioners Jamila Winder, Neil Makhija, and Tom DiBello, along with representatives from the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, local municipal officials, and partnering environmental organizations.

Visiting the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library
|
Yesterday afternoon, my staff and I had the pleasure of visiting the temporary site of the Montgomery County–Norristown Public Library. Karen DeAngelo, the library’s executive director and district administrator, provided a detailed overview of the renovation work at the permanent location and shared several renderings of the updated space.
We also discussed library programming, the services it provides, and ways that my colleagues and I can continue supporting funding for public libraries and promoting literacy for all ages.
The library’s temporary site is located at 1700 Markley Street, Suite 116, Norristown, PA.

Businesses Open During Ridge Construction
|
Hey neighbors! I wanted to send a reminder that all businesses remain open during the ongoing construction on Ridge Pike. Signs and entrances are being maintained to ensure they are clearly visible from the roadway so everyone can easily access the businesses.
The current construction on Ridge Pike is scheduled to last through January 2027. During this construction, Ridge Pike will be reduced to a single lane in each direction 24/7 between Germantown Pike and Crosskeys Road. Drivers are advised to plan accordingly and practice safe driving habits while crews are at work.

Recent/Upcoming Observances

Human Trafficking Awareness Month – January
|
January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Human trafficking—modern-day slavery—remains a serious issue in our society. While I continue to support legislative efforts to combat human trafficking and assist victims and survivors, this month is an important opportunity to raise awareness and learn to recognize the signs to help prevent it.
Local organizations like MCAT, Victim Services of Montgomery County, Laurel House, and Mission Kids provide information, resources, and help to those who have been victimized by human trafficking. If you or someone you know has been a victim, I encourage you to connect with one of the organizations above or contact my office for more information.
|
Please continue to stay safe, healthy, and well-informed. And, if you have questions about any state-related issue, please contact my office at 484-200-8263 or email [email protected]
