Friend,
On Saturday, the corporate-backed Trump regime attacked Venezuela and kidnapped Venezuela’s leader at the cost of at least 80 people’s lives. Then last night, the energy secretary declared that the U.S. intends to oversee the sale of the country's oil production “indefinitely.”
While people in the U.S. are trying to figure out how to pay for healthcare and groceries, the regime is planning on spending billions to take control of another country and steal its oil.
This is all to benefit Trump’s corporate cronies and the mega-wealthy. War after war has been waged to line the pockets of the same corporations that fuel the climate crisis, destroy communities, and poison the air, water, food, and land of this planet we call home. And right now, Chevron and Citgo have the most to gain.
But we know what’s possible when people of all races, places, and origins join together to say “no” to corporate greed and “yes” to a world run by and for people. That’s why we’re partnering with people across the country this coming Saturday to put pressure on Big Polluters.
Corporations might think they have all the power, but we know better. The Trump regime and the corporations behind it are only as powerful as we, the people, allow them to be.
So take action this Saturday at a Chevron or Citgo station near you. And if you don’t see one close by, you can create your own action here. (There's also a toolkit with tons more info and resources for creating your own event.) This is all moving very quickly — check back in the next day or so as more events get added if you aren’t able to host one yourself.
This is our opportunity to channel our outrage and grief into strategic action, pressuring the corporations propping up and profiting from the Trump regime. We must be brave and join together to protect our and our neighbors' freedoms, families, and futures. Join us!
Onward,
The team at Corporate Accountability

Friend,
“Illegal aggression.”1 “Illegal abduction.”2 “Dangerous precedent.”3 “Clear violation” of international law.4
These are all phrases from experts and global leaders to describe this weekend’s actions by the U.S. military, directed by the reckless Trump regime, to attack Venezuela’s capital and kidnap its president and his wife.
Let’s be clear: This is about control, power, and profit. This is a brazen, violent step in a long history of U.S. imperialism.
This is not about helping Venezuelan people. Venezuela holds one-fifth of the world’s proven crude oil reserves. This is about positioning wealthy, powerful men in the U.S. to profit from Venezuela’s oil at the expense of Venezuelan lives and sovereignty. Trump himself made these ambitions clear at a press conference last Saturday.
It’s immoral. It’s time for our elected officials to fight back and say no to Trump and his Big Oil cronies.
We mourn the loss of at least 80 people, mostly Venezuelans, who were killed in this attack. As Ben Saul, U.N. special rapporteur on human rights and counterterrorism said, “Every Venezuelan life lost is a violation of the right to life.”
From DC and Chicago to Caracas and beyond, Trump is seizing our freedoms in his war to extend rule by the bullies for the billionaires. And this latest move is straight out of the authoritarian playbook: distract from unpopularity at home by starting armed conflict abroad.
But we are joining together to protect our freedoms, our families and our futures. Act now to demand every elected leader in the U.S. condemn this attack and the occupation of Venezuela. Then, take a moment to read this statement from Latin America climate justice leaders.
Stay tuned for more ways to take action to stop war and corporate profiteering in Venezuela.
