“How we have to even run against these people—I won’t say cancel the election, they should cancel the election, because the fake news will say, ‘He wants the elections canceled. He’s a dictator.’ They always call me a dictator."
That was Donald Trump, John, speaking to members of his party in the House of Representatives on the 5th anniversary of his supporters storming the Capitol to overturn an election he lost.
How many times has Trump "joked" about something he wanted to do before he did it? Too many to count, including weaponizing the government to attack his opponents, his attack on Venezuela, and his attacks on mail-in ballots.
Now, apparently, he's "joking" -- and not for the first time -- about canceling the upcoming midterm elections. It's a threat we all have to take seriously, regardless of party affiliation, because our country was founded on the idea that our voices matter, not just the voices of the powerful.
Pitch in $25 or whatever you can today to help us protect our elections, defend vote by mail, and increase voter participation nationwide >> [[link removed]]

How does Trump describe his opponents? “ They say that when you win the presidency you lose the midterm. I wish you could explain to me what the hell is going on with the mind of the public because we have the right policy. They don’t. They have a horrible policy. They do stick together. They’re violent, they’re vicious, you know. They’re vicious people .”
He -- and the MAGA propaganda movement at large -- keep saying, in essence, that anyone who doesn't agree with them is sub-human and anyone who doesn't vote for MAGA candidates has something wrong with them, so why bother having elections at all?
They're setting the stage by rewriting history. They're still trying to manufacture evidence to support their lies that the 2020 election was stolen. They've whitewashed the January 6th attack on the Capitol by saying that the police egged the protestors into violence. They're using the Civil Rights division of the Department of Justice to chase internet conspiracy theories. And they threaten investigations and subpoenas into anyone who tries to stop them.
Opponents of voting rights will go to any length necessary to stop people from voting and stay in power. Fight back with $25 or whatever you can to make every vote count in our elections >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
