This week, the House is voting on the next set of FY26 appropriations bills to fund critical government operations. These bills, which cover energy and water development, commerce and justice, and interior and natural resources priorities, reject the bloated omnibus approach of years past. Instead, we are restoring regular order, spending less than another continuing resolution, and responsibly delivering on core priorities like energy reliability, water infrastructure, and public safety. This legislation reflects steady progress and is another step toward completing the full-year funding process the correct way.
Yesterday morning, I attended a GOP Member Policy Forum with President Trump, where we discussed our shared priorities for 2026 and the conservative policies that will keep our country safe, prosperous, and strong. I am also meeting with VA Secretary Doug Collins today to continue advocating for veterans in the Big First and across Kansas.
The House of Representatives will also vote on several other key bills, including the Affordable HOMES Act, which expands access to affordable housing by rolling back overburdensome energy efficiency standards on home-building.
