Dear Supporter,

Women’s voices are under pressure, in workplaces, in politics, and in public life. We face growing levels of misogyny simply for speaking up.

As we look ahead to 2026, the question many people are asking is simple and urgent: how do women actually get heard, how do we work together, and what has been shown to work?

That’s what this lunchtime event will focus on.

Join me online on Tuesday 20 January, 1–2pm for a conversation about women’s voices, power, and what effective campaigning looks like in the current climate.

I’ll be joined by US-based author and activist, Kajal Odedra, who has worked at the centre of major campaigns in the UK and the US. Drawing on that experience, Kajal will reflect on what helps women’s voices cut through, including lessons from political contexts where women’s rights are being actively challenged, and what that means for the UK now.

Together, we’ll explore:
* What enables women to be heard in workplaces, politics and public life
* Systems of power and decision-making
* What has made a real difference in past campaigns. And what hasn’t

This is a focused, practical hour. No prep needed, no pressure to take action on the day, just space to listen, reflect and think clearly about what matters next.

If you’ve already booked, I’m glad you’ll be there.
If not, I hope you’ll join us live.

At Fawcett, we work to turn evidence, lived experience and collective pressure into lasting change for women and girls across the UK. This session is a chance to meet and discuss how women’s voices can be strengthened in the year ahead.

Chief Executive, Fawcett Society

P.S. If you’ve been wondering how progress happens, or why it sometimes feels so slow, this hour will offer clarity grounded in real campaigning experience.
