John, it’s been 5 years since a violent mob of MAGA insurrectionists attacked our nation’s Capitol in an effort to overturn the 2021 election.

Instead of holding the Jan. 6 insurrectionists accountable, Donald Trump and his allies are parading them around, literally.

You can’t make this up, John. This is one of the clearest displays yet of Trump’s authoritarianism.

While he deploys the National Guard and ICE to intimidate lawful Americans, he is simultaneously protecting, pardoning, and glorifying violent offenders who tried to dismantle our democracy.

It’s a dangerous double standard that threatens the foundation of our democracy.

My thoughts are with the men and women who defended the Capitol on Jan. 6 and stood their ground to defend Democracy. But remembrance must be matched with action.

That’s why I led the effort to pass the Colorado Voting Rights Act as a state legislator, and it’s why I’m now running for the Senate to continue that fight on a larger stage.
