Five years ago today, our democracy was attacked.

On January 6, 2021, a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election. Police officers were beaten. The Constitution was put at risk. And the peaceful transfer of power—something Americans had always taken for granted—was nearly broken.

We haven’t forgotten what happened that day. And we haven’t forgotten who enabled it.

Donald Trump still refuses to accept the results of the election he lost. He’s praised those who carried out the violence, and he’s since pardoned more than 1,500 violent criminals connected to January 6.

That is not patriotism.

As Pat has said: being a patriot means respecting the Constitution when you win and when you lose.

Pat has a target on his back because he will relentlessly defend our democracy. His district is one of the most competitive in the country, and MAGA Republicans are already gearing up to spend millions to defeat him because he refuses to stay silent.
