John,
¡Feliz Día de Reyes!
For a lot of us Tejanos, the holidays don’t end until days (sometimes weeks!) after the New Year. And because you’ve played such a big part in making this campaign what it is, I wanted to share a piece of this tradition with you if you don’t already celebrate.
On Día de Reyes, we celebrate the day the Three Wise Men brought gifts to Jesus after his birth. But beyond the gifts, this holiday is about family, tradition, and remembering where we come from. It's a day to gather with our loved ones around the table and share a rosca, our traditional pan dulce. At the same time, we sip on champurrado, a warm beverage made from Mexican chocolate.
It’s one of my favorite traditions. It holds many of the values that make South Texas special and that shape who I am and why I’m running for Congress. It reminds me that community is built through care and showing up for one another.
As we begin the new year, I’m carrying these values with me and letting them power our work in the year ahead.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Con agradecimiento,
Bobby
