Hi there,

I was inside the House chamber in the Capitol on January 6. I saw it with my own eyes. I heard it. I felt it. That day was real, and it left a lasting mark on our country and on me.

I documented my experiences that day and kept a video log to make sure we never lose sight of what happened.

January 6 reinforced something I have believed my entire life: extremism and hyper-partisanship are tearing us apart, and if we are going to move this country forward, we have to confront that reality head on.

That day strengthened my commitment to doing things differently. To rejecting the extremes. To working with people of good faith, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, who are willing to put country over party and solve problems together.

This is not about relitigating the past. It is about learning from it, protecting our democracy, and choosing a better path forward.

That is what I am focused on every day I serve in Congress, and I am grateful to have you with me.
